Quincy Mumford & The Reason Why - Debauchery, Melbourne Fl 8/24/2013

New Jersey singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford and his band The Reason Why made a recent trek through a few of the southeastern states in support of their most recent CD It's Only Change.

I was able to see their performance at Debauchery in Melbourne Florida, and got to see a great show.
Having only seen Quincy and his band in New Jersey, it was exciting to see them perform somewhere where they are not as well known. When they play in New Jersey, everyone pretty much knows who they are and very familiar with their music.
The crowd at Debauchery were more of a local crowd who probably would have gone there whether Quincy and his band were playing or not.
The first half of the show featured mostly Quincy's music with a few covers thrown in. The place had a good number of people, many who were definitely appreciating the music, but being a good distance from the stage, I can only hope the band could tell they were being well received.
The second half found the club very crowded and more vocal than earlier. There were a few Quincy originals and several covers, many which I had never seen before, including a great version of the Earth Wind & Fire arrangement of the Beatles classic Got to Get You Into My Life.

Quincy and the band were in top form and proved they could win a crowd over even in a place where many probably did not know who they were, or had ever heard their music. I felt extremely fortunate to get to see them on this night. Here is a very partial setlist.
