Darius Rucker, former front man of Hootie & the Blowfish, brought his True Believers tour to the MAC at Monmouth University in West Long Branch New Jersey the other night. His set consisted of selections from his 3 solo albums;True Believers, Learn to Live & Charleston, SC 1966, 3 songs from his Hootie & the Blowfish years and a couple covers.
Mr. Rucker has a great voice and an equally appealing stage presence. His solo songs are not that far musically from many of his songs with Hootie and the Blowfish, so they fit very well together.
Jana Kramer and Rodney Atkins opened the show and they both joined Darius' set for the Hank Williams Jr. classic Family Tradition.
Jana Kramer performed an 8 song set which included her hit Why Ya Wanna, I Hope it Rains, Whiskey & One of the Boys.
Rodney Atkins set included Take a Back Road, If You're Going Through Hell(Before the Devil Even Knows), Cleaning this Gun(Come On In Boy), These are My People, It's America, and Watching You.
