The Zac Brown Band played 2 consecutive nights at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel New Jersey last week. The first was Thursday July 10, the second was Friday July 11. My wife and I attended the July 11th show and loved it.
This was our first time seeing Zac Brown and were not dissapointed. Great show, tight band, great setlist. I was even more amazed at the setlist changes between the two shows, and how they were essentially two completely different shows. Had I known, we may have gone to both shows.
The band consists of Zac Brown on Vocals and guitar, Clay Cook on guitar and vocals, Coy Dowes on guitar and organ, Chris Fryar on drums, Jimmy De Martini on Violin, John Driskell Hopkins on bass and guitar, Matt Mangano on bass and Daniel De Los Reyes on percussion.
Both shows contained several covers, ranging from classic county, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", to classic rock, "Comfortably Numb".
Paul Sinclair of the Led Zeppelin tribute band Get the Led Out, performed the Zeppelin classic Whole Lotta Love the night we went.
Bluegrass/Country artist Sturgill Simpson gave a strong opening set and was supported by a 3 piece band.
